The Tucker Story

Honoring a Legacy. Empowering a New Generation

Tucker Coworking is more than just a workspace, it’s a community rooted in Macon’s rich history and designed for today’s entrepreneurs and remote professionals.

Located at 765 Walnut Street in the heart of downtown, our building has long been a cornerstone of local commerce, thanks to the Tucker family legacy.

The story begins in 1958 when Paul Chambliss Tucker partnered with Carl L. Beard to form Beard & Tucker Realty. After Mr. Beard’s passing, Paul continued the business and was later joined by his son, James Romney Tucker, in 1967. Together, they grew the firm and rebranded it in 1975 as Tucker & Tucker Realty, making their mark as respected leaders in Macon’s real estate community.

Romney Tucker, a proud Macon native and Mercer University graduate, dedicated over 60 years to the real estate profession, serving alongside his parents and later mentoring the next generation. He held leadership roles as President of both the Macon Board of Realtors and the Macon MLS and was a well-known member of the Exchange and Lions Clubs. His integrity, leadership, and love for Macon left a lasting impact on the city and everyone who knew him.

Today, Tucker Coworking proudly carries that torch forward. By transforming this historic property into a modern, flexible office space, while preserving its legacy we’re also opening doors for a new generation of professionals to connect, grow, and thrive.

With private offices, high-speed internet, shared amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere, Tucker Coworking is where history meets hustle!
